The PPP and the PML-N have agreed to replace Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori with Bashir Memon, the provincial president of the ruling party at the center.
According to sources in both parties, the governor is likely to be changed in a few days.
Memon, a former civil servant who also served as the director general of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), confirmed reports that he was tipped as the next Sindh governor.
Responding to a query by Express News on whether he was nominated as the ceremonial head of the province, Bashir Memon replied in the affirmative. "Kindly pray that this [possible change] may bring betterment for everyone," he said.
Kamran Tessori has a longstanding affiliation with the MQM-P, a coalition partner of the PML-N-led federal government. According to some reports, the MQM-P has not been consulted about this potential change.
