ABBOTTABAD:
Traders on Wednesday held a protest against a traffic inspector who allegedly deflated tyres of parked vehicles. According to the protesters, Traffic Inspector Jalal is in the habit of punishing drivers found violating traffic laws by deflating the tyres of their vehicles. The inspector was patrolling near Cantonment plaza when he found some vehicles parked incorrectly. Jalal allegedly deflated the tyres of over a dozen cars. According to the protesters, the traders attempted to stop the inspector but he initiated an altercation. The angry traders then staged a protest against Jalal, demanding his transfer. To avert a clash between the traders and the traffic police, a contingent of police was also called in. However, both parties later compromised at a jirga. When approached, Jalal said the traders were warned several times about avoiding parking in the middle of the road which was the key source of traffic mess on the road but they did not respond positively.
