Murder over meat: Death penalty for man convicted of murder

LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhary Tariq Javed on Wednesday handed out the death penalty to a man convicted of killing a colleague over distribution of meat on Eidul Azha.

Prosecution said Hazrat Bilal, a security guard, had gunned down his colleague Abdul Aziz on November 30, 2009 over distribution of sacrificial meat on the eve of Eidul Azha. The court found him guilty of murder and awarded the death penalty to him.
