Denouncing allegations: PFUJ refuses political inclination
President of the organisation calls this a ‘shameful’ and ‘misleading’ propaganda.
Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has denounced the allegations that the PFUJ is aligned with certain political parties, said a press release. Calling this a ‘shameful’ and ‘misleading’ propaganda, the newly elected president Rana Azeem and General Secretary Ameen Yousuf said the organisation had no connection with any political force including Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League. “The PFUJ is a countrywide union of professional people, which works for the benefit of common journalists,” the statement said. “The history of PFUJ bears witness to the fact that it has always struggled for freedom of expression and press, but certain elements are conspiring against the federation, which will weather all storms and grow stronger,” it added.
