SHO Cantt said that during the flight a sudden technical failure led to a fire in the helicopter, upon which the two occupants, identified as Major Furqan and Major Imran, attempted to land in an unpopulated area.
They jumped from the helicopter with parachutes before it crashed near a cotton factory, getting away with minor injuries.
The two injured men were taken to CMH Hospital for First Aid.
The Pakistan Army reached the scene of the crash and cordoned off the area.
The ISPR confirmed the gunship helicopter crash.

@M. Emad: Were you picking cotton in the fields when you saw PAF gunships kill civilians in '71? Secondly, by PAF do you mean Paranormal Air Force as Pakistan Airforce has never operated any gunships? Did you give PAF your pocket money to buy gunships to kill these civilians as neither PAF nor PA Aviation had funds for gunships in '71. The number of likes you received for your comment shows how eager our Indian friends are to malign any and every aspect of our Armed Forces.
Why didn't the chopper burn on crashing? Oh! I get it. The reason it crashed was probably it ran out of fuel hence did not burn. It seems there's no money to pay for fuel. Well, the USD 1.6 billion showered by Obama sure gonna come in handy folks.Talk about timing.

so PAF owns cobra now? Didn't know that.. Moreover, we have crossed USA in technology coz as per ET our pilots can jump from helicopter before it crashes... Hulk eh?
Does not look like a serious crash. Since when SHOs are giving statements on army matters..there is nothing wrong but its not a common practice. I think pilots got into a heated argument and trashed the helicopter.

PAF gunship helicopter killed many unarmed civilians in 1971 East Pakistan (Bangladesh).
It seems that both person open window and jump out of it. new thing that people can come out from helicopters during crash.

Please correct the news. This is not a PAF aircraft, this belongs to Pak Army Aviation. Secondly, there is no ejection seat in AH-1 Cobra gunship helicopter. Therefore, the statement "They jumped from the helicopter with parachutes before it crashed...." seems misleading.
Hope it was insured...
