Meteorology: ‘Automated weather stations to improve forecasts’

Groundwork for the first automated weather station in Dera Ghazi Khan had been completed.

LAHORE: Chief Meteorologist Muhammad Riaz said on Sunday the installation of automated weather stations would enhance the observatory network and improve forecasting by the Meteorological Department.  

He said that the groundwork for the first weather station in Dera Ghazi Khan had been completed. Weather radar systems are operational in Lahore, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ismail Khan, Sialkot, Mangla, Islamabad and Karachi.
