UN Council reform: Pakistan backs Saudi UN stance

Pakistan agrees with Saudi government that there should be forward movement and progress be made on all issues.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan, while supporting the Saudi point of view regarding the UN Security Council said on Saturday that it has always advocated an effective and feasible reform of the Security Council based on consensus among the members. Foreign Office Spokesman Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry in a statement said the Security Council should be equitable, fair and democratic in nature. The Spokesman said Pakistan agrees with the Saudi government that there should be forward movement and progress be made on all issues including Syria, Palestine and other long standing issues like Kashmir. He said Pakistan has always supported all efforts to ensure peaceful resolution of disputes.
