14 charges against Musharraf filed with the Supreme Court

Advocate AK Dogar files application in SC Lahore Registry seeking issuance of red warrants against former president.

LAHORE: Advocate AK Dogar has filed an application in the Supreme Court’s (SC) Lahore Registry seeking issuance of red warrants against former president Pervez Musharraf.

Advocate Dogar has asked the court to direct authorities to bring Musharraf back with the help of the Interpol to face trial under 14 charges.

One of those charges is subversion of the Constitution penalty for which is death.

Dogar’s main case against Musharraf is pending in the Supreme Court. Now, he has filed a criminal miscellaneous application adding a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) issued charge sheet of 14 charges.

On March 24, the SC asked the petitioner to add a prayer that was missing in the petition against the former president under Article 6 of the Constitution.

Advocate Dogar prayed that similar to the manner in which Hamesh Khan was brought back to stand trial in the Punjab Bank scam, Musharraf should also be brought back through the Interpol.

The petitioner stated that on October 1, 2010, close to 11 years after he threw out Nawaz Sharif’s elected government by a military coup, Musharraf has launched a political party and is making statements everyday that are intended to destabilise the country and the democratic government.

He said that PML-N has issued a charge sheet against Musharraf.

The charge sheet includes murder of Nawab Akbar Bugti, killing hundreds of students of Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa, overthrowing an elected government, subversion of the Constitution and putting judges under house arrest and detention.

They are still failed to overcome increasing prices and countdown of electricity in the country people are receiving double/triple bill despite of hours load shading . I have seen poor women,in the row ,weeping ,having electricity bill in hands talking each others saying they can not facing existing circumstances due to skyrocketing prices of everything of daily essential. Being cleaned the field and paving the way for his entry, are you going to apex court it is right option? go to the people,serve the people,dilute mounting corruption , that is the right option.

unknown | 14 years ago | Reply I would recommend to do it only and only if it would become a tradition in our society to give justice to everyone. Like, put charges on Zardari and Nawaz Sharif as well. Why to blame Musharaf for the wrong deeds only.

Ayoub Khan, Yahya Khan, Zia ul Haq, has been supported by the apex court, and justified by the judgments under different stand points. vide the history of judgments of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Present rulers, talking about democracy,has been tremendous supporter of a military dictator who toppled a elected government and hanged elected prime minister.

Muhammad Uzzair | 14 years ago | Reply Yes Musharraf must be trial up in supreme court on the issue that he put judges under arrest , it means he arrest court not judges beacuse court take decisions according to constitution and law and according to religion, they dont take decision according to their wish, they just follow constition and nothing else. He also overthrow mir zafar ullah khan jamali an elected prime minister for their own wish, shaukat Aziz.
