LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge on Friday wrote to the capital city police officer to take departmental action against the Sabzazar SHO for not complying with court orders.

Earlier, the court had directed the SHO to record the statement of a petitioner seeking a case against a man who allegedly beat up the petitioner’s brother.

The court had issued notices to the SHO in this regard, but he did not comply. The petitioner then requested the court to direct police high-ups to take action against the SHO.

Another judge wrote to the CCPO, a few days ago, for departmental action against the Misri Shah, Nishtar Colony, Factory Area and Shadbagh station house officers for not complying with court orders.

The SHOs had been asked to record statements of petitioners in various cases, but they had not complied. The petitioners had then sought compliance of court orders and the court issued notices to these SHOs again, but they still did not comply.

The petitioners submitted that they had approached the relevant police stations but the SHOs had refused to record their versions despite court orders.
