LAHORE:

A Lahore High Court division bench on Wednesday summoned all members of an investigation team, headed by CIA Organised Crime SP Umar Virk, on a petition questioning the failure of the police in arresting former chief minister Dost Muhammad Khosa in Sapna Khan’s alleged kidnapping and murder case.

Missal Khan, father of the missing actress, had filed the petition.

He said that Racecourse police had registered a case in 2012 against Khosa on charges of kidnapping and murder of Sapna Khan, his former wife.

He said the police had not arrested Khosa who had not secured a bail from any court in the case.

He said the police had also not recovered Sapna Khan.

He requested the court to direct the police to arrest Khosa, complete investigation and submit challan of the case.

A provincial law officer told the court that steps were being taken for Khosa’s arrest.

The bench, headed by Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, expressed dissatisfaction with the law officer’s statement and summoned the CIA SP and other members of the investigation team.

The bench adjourned the hearing till October 31.

Race course police have also registered an FIR against Missal Khan and others on Khosa’s complaint, accusing them of fraud and kidnapping of his former wife.

All the accused in the FIR have obtained pre-arrest bail.
