Umer Said Khan, the political administration officer of the Mamond Tehsil in Bajaur agency, confirmed the attack saying militants had fired rockets from the Afghan side on a village Sarkai at Mamond, but were unable to cause any human or material loss as the rockets had missed the residential areas.
Pakistani forces fired in retaliation on the suspects' sites.
This is the second consecutive day of reported attacks in Bajaur from the Afghan side.
On Monday, two minors were injured from Afghan firing in an attack which attracted serious concern from the local tribal elders, who demanded an immediate halt to such activities.
Bajaur borders the Afghan province of Kunnar and has witnessed regular shelling from the Afghan side in recent months.
The Pakistani government has raised the issue with the Afghan government several times, who have repeatedly denied these allegations.
The attacks have caused several civilian casualties in the areas.
Earlier on September 26, six mortar shells fired from Afghanistan killed two people in the Ghulam Khan Tehsil of North Waziristan Agency.
On September 18, Afghan security forces killed at least five Pakistani citizens close to the Pak-Afghan border in Balochistan.
Islamabad had lodged a strong protest with Kabul on the same day.
Frontier Corps IG Maj Gen Ghuyur Mehmood said last month that foreign consulates near the Pak-Afghan border were creating problems for the country.
He maintained about the warmongers though, that “if we stand together for peace, we can easily defeat them and foil their plans.”

@Babloo: Pakistan was not responsible for the Mumbai attacks. This has been our consistent stance. We have no relation to those Marathi attackers. They don't even look like Pakistanis. They killed Mumbai ATS squad chief Hemant Karkare, who was a great fighter for Muslim rights and revealed the involvement of Hindu extremist groups in terrorist bombings throughout India.
India caused the flooding in Pakistan, on all occasions, due to building illegal dams in Kashmir. India is also responsible for the water scarcity in Pakistan. These are war crimes against civilians and innocent people in Pakistan by a terrorist state, India.
Baloch, Pukhtoon, Makrani people of Balochistan province are stoutly Pakistanis. Elections held in Balochistan have yielded massive turn out for elections. Indian funded BLA terrorists are a very fringe minority, the proof is that they have no power in Balochistan and rely on fear and intimidation of poor Baloch people. Pakistan is more than capable of dealing with these secular ethnic Indian/Israeli-backed fanatics. BLA's supporters are in India and Israel, not Pakistan.
@Bakhtiyar Ghazi Khan: Please correct yourself. It is three front. Include Balachistan.
@Talha Rizvi: No one incurs if the it is a website. Learn. We do not gloat over your sad demise but do you remember how you were all gloating during Mumbai attack? In 2010-2011 India gave you US$10 million for your floods. Is there any shame left in you Pakistanis?
@Hafiz: You must stop your incursions in a neighboring country's website. Shame on you who gloats on the deaths of innocent Pakistanis even in things like Suicide bombings, earth quakes and floods. Thanks for the massive retaliation thought must be used against your country. By the way is there any shame left in you Indians? @ Last word: of course since it is nothing more then a front of anti-Pakistani activities. You Indians must be happy however.
@Hafiz: Use your real name, Hindu. These Afghan attackers killing Pakistani civilians are Indian agents, isn't it obvious. India wants to open two fronts against Pakistan. The world is seeing that Pakistan was 100% on India's motives for entering Afghanistan. Just wait until next year when your US bodyguards are gone. It is called Hindu Kush "Death" for a reason. Every Afghan with a gun will be after you.
Massive retaliation required from afghanistan side. massive. pakistan must stop infiltration into neighbors country.
pakistanis also infiltrate in afghanistan as well shame shame shame on pakistan.
@Qureshi:
Please don't use such language without the courage.
Taking a leaf out of Indias book won't help Afghanistan in anyway
So Afghanistan army is taking the revenge of Pakistan unprovoked firing on LoC.
