The Lahore Development Authority has established a new directorate to deal with land acquisition issues for development projects.


The directorate will function under the LDA’s additional housing director general and will have two wings: the award/ownership wing and the land acquisition wing.

The directorate has been established to efficiently handle matters pertaining to the acquisition of land for development projects.

The award/ownership wing will deal with citizens’ complaints and will be responsible for the timely submission of reports regarding the ownership/award status of land.

The land acquisition wing will handle land acquisition proceedings and issue necessary notifications under the Punjab Land Acquisition Act. It will also be responsible for completing pending proceedings.

Three posts of land acquisition collectors have been abolished to create the posts of land acquisition director (BS-19), who will head the directorate, and deputy director (BS-18).



Postings in LDA

Cheema has ordered postings of several land acquisition collectors (LACs). Sajjad Ahmad Qureshi has been posted as LAC-I.

He will also be the LAC for River Ravi Development Zone Project, Metro Bus Project, dualisation of the road from LOS Ferozepur Road to Multan Road along the Cantt Drain. Mian Hamid Raheed has been posted as LAC-II. He will be the LAC for the LDA City Housing Scheme. Ahmad Alam Waseem has been posted as LAC-III.
