The cabinet session, presided over by K-P Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, demanded an immediate end to drone strikes from the federal government.
The members also urged the Taliban to stop killings on humanitarian grounds.
Referring to an earlier statement of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Taliban being allowed to open their offices in the country, the cabinet said that the demand was made to turn peace talks into a reality.
The cabinet argued that by allowing Taliban to open offices, external forces will not be able to derail the peace process.
The cabinet further said that provinces should be kept in confidence about the ongoing attempts at peace talks with the Taliban.
The All Parties Conference (APC) in September saw major political parties decide that dialogue would be pursued as a way to counter terrorism. However, recent attacks by Taliban have called the APC resolution into question.
The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed that no serious attempts have been made by the government at holding talks.

Liberals are mere 5 percent of society, who cares ??
@ hassan ...good one ... for that purpose they hotel rooms not the office......
What about the assasination of Israr Gandapur PTI law minister?
All political parties confused on TTP issue. Only the creators of TTP are sure and satisfied. And we all know who are the creators........ We will lost Imran in this confusion as we lost Bhutto. If it happens our coming generations wouldn't spare us.since 2000 PTI stance on terrorism is crystal clear. When the creators of TTP realized that they are not more usefull because of PTI stance, they divided TTP In branches to prevail the confusion till the end of the game....
The rate at which Pakistan is going down the path of Afghanistan, it looks like the afghan's strategic depth policy is winning.
I thought pashtuns were the bravest and most fearless in pakistan. But anyway, i would like to see what becomes of the office they make if TTP are given a chance. It will be blown everyday of a few years considering the numbers they have killed actually.
@S Ahmad: Agree. Neither it was, is, nor will be our war.
@S.Ahmed Taliban are the murderers of 50,000 innocent Pakistanis. Take your filthy pro-Taliban propaganda elsewhere.
@Mirza: How come you and your 56 supporters fail to understand the clear statement of the KPK chief? His statement was meant for the Talibans as well as the USA President, reminding Mr Sharif to take up the subject with Mr Obama? The USA desperately need KPK highway to take out the lethal heavy weaponry.

I am very disappointed from IK & PTI. After all stupid and senseless statements of IK, I am 100% sure IK has some connection with TTP. Thank God he is not ruling Pakistan. Otherwise he would have shove TTP's Islam thru are nostrils. He himself is confused and making whole nation confuse. May God have mercy on us.
@Rex Minor: Rex Minor from Waziristan who claims to be a German talks about Pakistani army vacating Taliban's territory I.e. Waziristan. Interesting.
@Jibran:
Your response is of a typical under-educated newly modernised so called middle-class. The Taliban or whatever you choose to call them are our Muslim brothers who are fighting against a war imposed upon them by our inept, corrupt and subservient civil /Military establishment.
The Taliban homes, villages and town have been invade, their children and women butchered on behalf of a criminal empire that invaded our neighbouring country. This was not our war and yet as faithful client state we chose to kill our own people on behalf of the most wicked and evil forces in the history of human race.
The punjabis have always held a jealous streak against Pashtoon's and the Punjabi military establishment completely misjudged the situation, (Punjabis are not known for their bravery) now the insurgency has morphed into a Pashtoo'n nationalist movement under the guise of islamic movement. The Taliban will never back off unless our corrupt establishment is ready to kill all 40 million Pashtoon's of Afghanistan and Pakistan which is hardly possible. (Russia with its brute force couldn't get rid of two million Chechens) So the next best option is to sit down humbly and talk to them, admit your state's cowardly behaviour and hope they are gracious enough to forgive and make a new start..A tall order I say.
So opening TTP's office is PTI's official stance from the start. Not Imran's personal point of view as claimed by Asad Umer earlier.
PTI innings should be declared. Enough!! Bunch of incompetent.
I love this new PTI gov. in K-P. They demand from the federal gov. and appeal to talibans. That is the way to capitulate in front of terror and brutal force. Ghighi bandhi huey hay inn ki taliban kay aagay!
Is it real? or satirical fiction :) .. OMG PTI completely lost his mind
Doctor Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi is in the (good or bad?) habit of over-simplifying everything.... He thinks that everything moves like a cricket ball and friendly cricket matches are the solution to every problem including terrorism, suicide attacks, target killings, extortions. Organized crimes, inflation, unemployment, unrest etc etc... and that every problem will be resolved on its own when Drone attacks are stopped!! Wah Facebook Khan Wah!!
@ Green Tiger - for all intents and purposes, PTI party offices ARE Taliban offices.
To all haters of IK: Just one question to all of you, You think Pak army is stronger than US and all Nato forces? if your answer is No, then dont blame IK for something you can't comprehend. You can't win war from gurellas, you have to bring them into Political process period.
give them diplomatic status too while you are at it
So what's next? Sleeping with taliban?
already TTP has it office in Lal masjid..
The members also urged the Taliban to stop killings on humanitarian grounds.
Please edit: The members also begged the Taliban to stop killings on humanitarian grounds.
Will PTI bother to tell us that if Taliban are not the ones killing people why is the PTI CM asking them to stop killings? Buzdil and confused Khan.
Go ahead Khan, go for peace, go for talks, we need peace at all cost..
HA Last paragraph should read "...TTP has claimed that no serious attempts have been made by the government to surrender the country on TTPs terms!!!
Only one word comes to mind; COWARD
Bunch of cowards. They are scared witless of the Taliban.
All these fake liberals babbling about PTI siding with Taliban...whats has your end of the spectrum done? Apart from losing some of our finest soldiers and an uncountable number of civilians? And Bilawal's speech was full of hypocrisy, when his mother herself adopted a path of reconciliation. It is appalling to see so many people having goldfish memories.
@Rex Minor: Wait, "Their Territory"???? Hmmm, And here I thought that this was all about "SOVEREIGN PAKISTAN"!!
@Green Tiger: "Why not give the PTI party office to TTP.?" . It is a bit of complicated logistics. They want to move into the PM's house but want to spend the evenings at Bani Gala Farmhouse, with their boys.
Jibran: We just don't disagree with him, we hate him. His mother, father and perhaps grandfather has done so much that our generations will remember them and curse them. IK is wrong on this front but he can never attain the level of disgust which every Jiayala possesses.
PTI is fast becoming a "Curved Tail." Nuf said!
Why castigate Bilawal for stepping on the tail.
@ Chief Minister Pervez Khattak: Giving in?: K-P cabinet wants immediate halt of drones, office for Taliban . In one of your wildest moments did it ever occur to you to make a humble request from your murdering machine of chums, to take a little pauseg . No, you would not want to spoil your shalwar.
Could be worse - can you imagine Pakistan with Taliban Khan running the show?
The solutions discussed by KP government seem to be practical rather than ambitious attempts at stopping violence. The reality are that "Taliban" live within the Pakistani people so how can you manage to eliminate a force without addressing the root causes of the problem?
The taliban don't kill on humanitarian grounds so how can they stop.
I don't know why people cannot understand this! For negotiations to occur, there has to be eventually an office...
Why not give the PTI party office to TTP.?
IK is an English Royal version of Afridi. Poor IK and PTI could not take even one casualty and surrendered to the terrorists. They are only used to the protection and endorsement of PTI not its consequences in the long run.
@putsetter
PTI and PML-N are both on same page, and have majority of nation supporting them.
Majority of Pakistanis are opposed to Pakistan supporting US war on terror.
PPP and Bilawal have little if any support, and only minority liberals support them (which is not a big deal).
"Pervez Khattak, demanded an immediate end to drone strikes from the federal government. The members also urged the Taliban to stop killings" It is ironic that PTI CM is "demanding" Fed Govt to stop drone attacks as if Fed Govt has been actually powerful and operating drones! On the other hand he "urges" TTP to stop killing innocent civilians. Does anybody can see any balance or fairness in this statement? PTI and PML were elected under the protection and support of TTP. Now it is the payback time. Brave PTI could not take one death and surrendered while they make fun of those who have sacrificed a lot.
The first call from Pakistan leadership after Malala notice to Mr Obma on drones, that they are no longer for but against the so called American War on Terror. The Talibans must now enter into a dialogue for a cease fire and to negotiate the withdrawl of Pakistan military from their territory.
Rex Minor
Bilawal rightly calls him Buzdil Khan. Buzdil Khan will call the world that there are conspiracies against peace talks with Taliban; end to drone attacks but will not condemn the killers and speak the truth. The people of KP will kick out Buzdil Khan one day.
PTI in self destruct mode... Who knew IK was a one trick monkey...
Let's hold drones strikes for a month and continue to release Taliban prisoners secretly, what's next? Pathans are not only known for their hardheadedness but also for bravery too; where is the brave part?
"The members also urged the Taliban to stop killings on humanitarian grounds....." Humanitarian ground, huh, what is that? Talibs have not been taught that subject in their madrassas. So kindly explain that in a language that these Allah's warriors understand, please!
The visionary Imran Khan is super confused. The other day he was suggesting that it was not Taliban who is killing people. Now, who are you appealing to? And why? The question will also arise, who is the true "leader" of TTP to sit in that office? The bigger stake holder? And how will they decide. Of course, they don't hold elections. They go by who's more violent.
No matter how much you disagree with Bilawal. He is right about Imran Khan and the PTI government.
This article, in light of the fact that there were dozens of people supporting PTI and IK in the other thread about Bilawal's very cheeky speech about saving people from drowning, makes it an even more laughable fiction that IK has any clue or that he is not a TTP sympathizer.
You don't appeal to killers, your arrest and prosecute them. And if they are in jail, you try to keep them there, not release them.
