#KPKUpdates: KP Govt decides formation of Anti Terrorism Police Force in the province. A separate D.I.G. to lead this force.
— PTI (@PTIofficial) October 17, 2013
The emergency meeting was convened to review law and order and security in the province following the assassination of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Israrullah Gandapur.
Pervez Khattak announced a three-day mourning period over the attack.
He also directed the Inspector General of Frontier Corps (FC) to place Elite Force personnel at all major public places in the province, and to hold the local Station House Officer (SHO) of police responsible for any attacks within his assigned area.
The Chief Minister sanctioned better weapons and equipment for security forces and the installation of surveillance cameras at all checkposts in the province.
Khattak criticised the slow pace of negotiations and said he hoped they would move forward in the best possible manner.
Finance minister Sirajul Haq led the recitation of Surah Fatihah and memorial prayers for the late minister at the meeting.
Assassination of Israrullah Gandapur
A blast outside Dera Ismail Khan on Wednesday had seen Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf lose its third Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) to terrorist attacks in less than six months.
The suicide bomb attack was carried out near the MPA's traditional village in Kulachi, 45 kilometres west of Dera Ismail Khan.
His funeral prayers were held at a cricket ground in Kulachi on Thursday.
Seven other people along with Gandapur were laid to rest.

because if PTI attacks what will it get back? more attacks on it's govt, the ordinary people, and maybe even other provinces will suffer. we have been attacking for many years. our security is a failure and so is ISI
Imran used to say that there is no need to establish a new force or an institution , all we need is to bring reforms within police. He had a very clear and strong point of view about this during his pre election statements . He is exactly doing the same things now.
Bare Bare baatain kartay thay.....kartay thayyy
@Ch. Allah Daad: Im sorry what did the Noora party propose that is so different from PTI
@Saim Baig:
"How difficult it is to understand that provincial measures aren’t useful unless federal government is on the same page."
Good quote! Now you can please post the same word on insaf.pk for the perusal of Mr. Chairman. Back when PML-N was in opposition and ruling in Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif used to say the same thing but PPP's most trusted ally in IK always used to admonish SS and threw the book at him on 18th Amendment.
Law and Order is a provisional subject under the sacred 18th Amendment and if KPK is lacking here, IK should immediately demand the resignation of his government for failing to uphold the safety and security of the people of KPK. I am sure IK would have cried on top of his lungs right now had a PML-N run dispensation would have been in power in KPK or if Punjab would have under the grip of such lawlessness.
WHAT GOES AROUND.....COMES AROUND
@Naseer Ahmad:
Sharif's have no soft corner for thugs and bandits. You mention North Waziristan operation but chose not to mention the Swat operation which had full support of PML-N. The reason that PML-N always had trepidation of PPP and its WOT policies was because PPP had outsourced such policies to the Army and security establishment and never took ownership of such critical endeavors.
Sharif's have categorically stated if the path to negotiations are not cleared of potholes and these bandits do not reciprocate the gesture extended during the APC, an all out operation will be launched.
@ Ch Allah Daad A cruel and insulting comment from a Punjabi on the merciless killing of Pukhtoons. If IK is the friend of Taliban terrorists, the Sharif brothers also have a soft corner for them .PML N leadership showed reluctance to be on board with PPP led previous government when North Waziristan Operation seemed imminent.
The whole country is under siege of taliban, what more can we expect ! We are not a capable country.
The announcement of anti-terrorists police is only for public consumption which has been made due to severe public criticism, but the intent for taking action appears to be missing since more emphasis has been made on accelerating talks with these barbarians. This police force will probably be holding talks with TTP in the newly allotted offices for them which shall be announced later by the KPK govt.
CM KPK did not attend funeral of his law minister. No minister attends funeral of martyred policemen. Cowards and TTP allies.
Hope is not a good strategy.
@ Ch. Allah Daad better have your reading glasses on

Anyone gets killed, Blame on Pti. Pti leader gets killed also blame that on Pti. All parties agreed on negotiations in APC but after each attack, all fingers are pointed towards Pti. How difficult it is to understand that provincial measures aren't useful unless federal government is on the same page.
Negotiations are moving forward....moving forward on TTP terms that is... They will continue to kill and govt will continue to surrender and appease.
Keep on dreaming. Thats the only thing that talibans can't away from you. In fact they will certainly turn your dreams into nightmares!
@bangash:
PTI are a pack of cowards.
Yeah, and you are a true replica of Sultan Rahi! Do we have any sane people left in our country who know how to solve a problem without foaming at the mouth and wielding a gundassa? You have made your point repeatedly that you are brimming with testosterone but have you got any brains?
Either killed by suicide bombs, drone attacks or army operation, end of the day, its poor Pakistani who get killed.
Even after the APC , we couldn't stop drone attacks, couldn't hold army operation and God knows where are the negotiations happening with TTP, if any!
A baseless war, initiated by Musharraf, nurtured by Zardari and now prolonged by Nawaz
"Negotiations will move forward in the best possible manner" meaning more sucide bombing and killing of the innocents. It seems PTI has been brainwashed and lost all the common sense and justice as called for under Islam.
How much this nation will mourn? Will the govt will ever do anything to avoid such incidents in future or just mourn and ask for forgiveness from the terrorists?
Asad Khan
Yes. trust you in this. Do you know what does it mean to be at war? At war with an enemy you don't even know? Let the vengeance come out and bombard the whole province once and for all and you will see the peace then? You are ignorant. If you are so much fond of war,please try to come out of your cozy bedroom and fight against them in FATA. Mere talking just proves you a computer keyboard warrior and nothing else. Trust me on this!
How is police going to safeguard ordinary citizens,when it can't even protect a minister fully knowing that he was being targetted.
Please correct me if I am wrong. I perceived it as CM ordered many White Flags as latest security equipment and photos of DRONES. This is what they can do only.
atleast condemn the damn TTP ....!!
Mourning won't help. Demonstrate resolve to bring down the killers.
Unbelievable - negotiate with those who murder your own. What kind of spineless leadership and mindset is this?
Still no condemnation from Imran and KP government. If they don't want to anger their friends, they should call it a friendly fire.
why pti not attacks ???
Why do security teams need better equipment if negotiations will work out??
Why the urgency to upgrade the armory Mr. CM? Your leader is bending over backwards to convince the whole wide world that TTP is nothing but a figment of imagination of a naive mind. Your government should instead spend its valued finances on building an office block for TTP inside the premises of KPK Secretariat.
He hoped but even he is not sure any more so he ordered the security equipment as contingency.
Chief Minister still dreaming of negotiating with suicide bombers. PTI are a pack of cowards.
