LAHORE:

The Lahore Zoo will host puppet shows and variety shows to attract visitors during the Eid holidays, which are traditionally its busiest periods of the year.

Zoological Gardens Director Naeem Bhatti told APP on Tuesday that guides would be deployed at near the tiger and bear cages to provide visitors information about their natural habitat, habits, average life span and diet.

“Free leaflets and stickers relating to the Lahore Zoo, describing its history and the origin of its wildlife wealth, will be given to visitors,” he said. The tigers, lions and monkeys are usually the main attraction for visitors, especially children.

Bhatti added that a reserve police contingent and bomb disposal unit officials would patrol the zoo grounds on the lookout for saboteurs, pick-pockets and eve-teasers. The zoo had hired private security guards for the day too, he added.
