Imminent threat: Adiala Jail security beefed up

The sources also disclosed that the authorities have increased the number of check posts around the jail.

RAWALPINDI: Fearing an imminent attack on Adiala Jail, law enforcement agencies beefed up security in and around the facility on Monday. In the wake of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa jailbreaks, intelligence agencies have disclosed fear of a possible terrorist attack on Aaila Jail around Eid. A joint exercise was held in this regard by Rangers and Police commandoes. According to sources, a search operation was also conducted in the jail barracks to purge them from arms, mobile phones and narcotics. The sources also disclosed that the authorities have increased the number of check posts around the jail and have additionally deputed heavily armed personnel to guard the facility.
