@gp65: Madam it's not the matter of being Indian or other wise. We are all human being and should stand up against the crime against women , we appreciate what indian civil society is doing to protect women you have awaken up to it we are still in the sleep mode , we need to tighten our belts and stand up against the perpetuators. The laws need to change here too many crimes against woman because of the cultural bias against them are not reported and those that are reported, results in the perpetuators going scot free because of the complexity of an evidence issues. I appreciate your thoughts on this issue and let's think beyond borders.
And those who ask for taliban rule . Look at cases happened in Taliban rule, BACCHA BAZI is still on.
Untill every society starts exploring root causes . Question them for good, women and children boys/ girls alike wont get problem solved....!
Media revels in such incidences..it keeps them in business...and makes the westoxicated ones hold their head in pride....after all no suit and ties or T-shirt and jean types speakin english were involved.
It is good to see Pakistani Media has started talking about rape in Pakistan. It seems muslim men don't discriminate between girls and boys when it comes to rape......A 14-year-old California boy testified Monday that a Saudi Arabian air force sergeant sexually assaulted and raped him in Las Vegas. I ma curious why relatively more boys are raped in Muslim countries.

@Muhammad Ahsan KHAN: Are you serious or merely sarcasic. Assuming you were serious - it is not the writing about the rape which is problematic but the fact that it occurs. As an Indian, I am glad that Indian civil society and media have made it a big deal when rape occurs . They pushed for change in laws and have got that. They are pushing for better policing which due to the budget implications will take a little tme coming (it will come though - I a convinced) and finally they are pushing for a change in mindset which stops blaming the victim and discuss her conduct, clothes and character and start blaming the perpetrator's conduct and character.
As a woman, I hope that such things happen in Pakistan so as to reduce the incidence of rape, increase the likelihood of rapist being convicted and allow the victim to resume her life without stigma.
Taliban rule is not at all the answer. They will deliver a fear-based, soulless but peaceful kabaristan like society, where people all functionally dead and suicidal inside. It is not worth the experiment. The best role model for any human society is the happy, healthy, crimeless and peaceful Scandinavian countries like Norway and Sweden. Human spirits thrive over there.
Pakistan is an Islamic State. Islam forbids Sodomy and it is a Sin.
On the other hand Rape is not defined or mentioned any where in the Holy Book. There is no Arab word for the act of Rape which also forbids the the sex between a married couple without the consent of the one of partner (man or woman). The Rape is unknown to Islam.
How an Islamic State with Islamic Culture and Islamic Constitution dares to talk of RAPE??
@Ahmed: Classy........Hope there are many people like you in Pakistan.........
@Ahmed Ha ha ha ! But wait, could you actually be serious?
when people remain unemployed especially the youth, this will happen....we as a society has failed to help and assist the youth with alternative source in directing their energy for better use.
@Ahmed: and I always guessed why my country is moving towards a failing state.
I blame to Media and responsible as well.
Boy being sodomized is also "rape", when are we going to change our narrative!
Elsewhere it is girls who are unsafe. Here even boys are not spared!
It was expected after indian rape cases Pakistan will aslo face same situation. India is certainly involved in these rape cases as they also want same situation in Pakistan like what happened in India.
I was expecting this before and now this all happening and media is promoting with full pace
@think: Media is owned by enterprises now a days that have their own agenda towards everything and what they do with the media is nothing but opinion building in favour of their won interest.
@think: Point to take here is not who made headline news.. or why now .. the point is these things need to be discussed in public properly otherwise it will engulf the society in an instant. Who needs taliban when our own people are animals.
@the Skunk:
"Does this not penetrate deeply into your heart and shatter your sense of stability when reading this news? The only thing left is vigilante justice because the PMLQ, PPP, and PMLN governments failed to give justice where immediately due. Salams"
Think about it. You have a very good second option.
TALIBAN RULE.
You have seen how peaceful Afghanistan under the Taliban. Hameed Gul agrees with me. He is a very honest, lion-hearted soldier who single-handedly brought the USSR down. Trust him.
You should opt for Shariat under Taliban rule.
There will be utter peace.
There is nothing justifying this horrific act but the headline news at ET makes me wonder what is the agenda. Is it just a coincidence that the world's attention is on Delhi rape cases and ET has made these headline news? Did such incidence not take place before in Pakistan?
Abid Sher Ali is wasting his energies left right and centre. His city needs his services.
This on International Day for Rural women!!!
I think it is more of a failure of the society that we live in rather than the government.
