Price hike: DHA residents slam increase in charges
They expressed these views at the general body meeting of the Defence Society Residents' Association.
KARACHI:
Residents of the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) have taken an exception to the hike in water charges and the increase in other fees and charges by the DHA. They expressed these views at the general body meeting of the Defence Society Residents' Association (DSRA), chaired by its president, Justice (Retd) Saiduzzaman Siddiqui, on Monday. The meeting was attended by National Assembly member Dr Arif Alvi, Sindh Assembly member Samar Ali Khan and a large number of DHA residents. The participants felt that the decision to increase charges should have been taken after consultation with the residents. The meeting adopted a resolution to setup a legal aid fund to safeguard and protect the rights of the residents and authorised the body's president to take all steps he may deem fit to safeguard their interests.
