SUKKUR: Two alleged bandits, accused of killing a goldsmith eight months ago, were declared arrested by the Sukkur police on Tuesday.

DSP Sukkur City Rizwan Soomro told the media at his office that they had conducted a raid on a tip-off at an undisclosed location on Monday night and arrested Hafeez Rind and Ali Raza Rind after some resistance.

They also seized two pistols and Rs995,000 in cash from their possession. DSP Soomro believed that the suspects acquired the cash by selling the stolen gold. The gold and cash that the police seized are equal to the price of one and a half kilogrammes of gold, he added.

On February 2 this year, these alleged criminals looted goldsmith Ghulam Mustafa, who was carrying two kilogrammes of gold, near Rohri. A few days after the murder, the police arrested an accomplice, Ghulam Abbas Rind, who disclosed the names of the suspects who were at large until Monday, said DSP Soomro.
