Protesting injustice: Health workers demand salaries
Those present at protest gave a deadline of two days to government, threatening an indefinite hunger strike from Eid.
SUKKUR:
Lady health workers (LHW) protested in front of Larkana Press Club on Sunday against their unpaid salaries for the last four months. LHWs said that while regulation was announced by the former government, no action has been taken by the provincial authorities yet. LHWs, who play an important role in anti-polio and anti-measles campaigns, feel that the government is reluctant to make regular payment. Those present at the protest gave a deadline of two days to the government, threatening an indefinite hunger strike from Eid.
