SUKKUR:

Sukkur police have busted a gang of car lifters and managed to nab the gang's leader, Allah Dad, alias Dadan. They also seized a stolen vehicle and weapons from his possession, claimed the Sukkur SSP Fida Hussain Shah at a press conference on Saturday.

According to Shah, the gang used to steal cars from Sindh and Balochistan, which were later sold in Karachi. He added that the police also found a master key from Dadan's possession, which was used to open the cars' locks.

During the last couple of days, police have arrested 28 absconders and six wanted criminals. Shah commended the Rohri SHO for his efforts and said that his name had been recommended for a cash reward and commendation certificate. He added that the police have recovered 12 stolen motorcycles in the last two days.

Speaking about the target killers who had fled from Karachi and taken refuge in different parts of Sindh, he said that there were reports about their presence in the district but they had been forced to flee due to the strict monitoring and strategy of Sukkur police.

In response to a question regarding the activities of the land mafia and extortionists, the SSP said that he was aware of the situation and was taking steps to curb the practice. He said that he had devised a comprehensive strategy to improve the law and order situation by heeding the advice of the citizens. He added that the police was monitoring hotels situated on the highway to curb crimes, especially kidnapping for ransom.
