Both Shahzad and Masood gave an impressive performance for Pakistan A at the three-day tour match against South Africa, hitting half centuries.
Struggling Asad Shafiq also managed to retain his place in the squad with a 42-run innings in the drawn tie in Sharjah.
The PCB already announced 12 players for the 15-man squad that include Misbahul Haq (captain), Khurram Manzoor, Azhar Ali, Younis Khan, Umar Amin, Adnan Akmal, Saeed Ajmal, Zulfiqar Babar, Abdul Rehman, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Irfan, Rahat Ali.
The two-match series will start in Abu Dhabi from October 14.

It's so easy for everyone to complain, but no one will take a moment to appreciate the fact that most of these batsmen, Shan Masood, Ahmad Shahzad and Shafiq inclusive, have scored very well in the practise games and have good domestic records. Now that the PCB's actually trying some new batsman, we're still complaining. I'm positive these guys will have a positive outing on the UAE pitches (especially Sharjah).
Very disappointed no inclusion of Sohaib Maqsood and Rizwan. On current form these two should have been selected in place of struggling Asad Shafiq and Adnan Akmal.
I dont know how are we going to get rid off the over rated Akmal Brothers.only umar akmal is ok for one day snd t20 form if cricket as a wicket keeper batsman.
What has Haris Sohail done wrong.probably one of the best performing player in domestic cricket
still no umar akmal. He is better player than Asad any day, anywhere.
Khurram Manzoor shouldn't be even in Squad
No planning at all.picking the players in last minutes.PCB is run by amateurs with hefty salaries
