Failed attempt: Robber caught by public

ISLAMABAD: The $200 Nasir Ali had stolen did not take him far. As Ali was running away after snatching the foreign currency from a Chinese national in Blue Area on Tuesday, the police said locals chased and captured him. Police officials of the Kohsar Police Station then reached the spot and arrested Ali. According to the police, Susiaoqiane, the Chinese national, was going to a money changer when he was intercepted by Ali. Ali snatched the money from him and tried to flee but locals standing nearby and the Chinese national chased him down, the police said. Authorities reached the spot when they were alerted about the incident. A case has been registered against Ali at the Kohsar Police Station for theft and dishonestly receiving stolen property under sections 382 and 411 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
