LAHORE:

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Punjab President Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry on Wednesday criticised the government’s decision to appoint Qamar Zaman as chairman of National Accountability Bureau.

He said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan Peoples Party had apparently chosen a person who would not expose their corruption.

He said Zaman did not meet the requirement for the post of NAB chairman. He said the chairman must be unbiased and should not be politically affiliated.

He said 11 cases were pending with the NAB against Nawaz Sharif.

Rashid said the PTI had not been consulted before the nomination was announced.

The PTI leadership said it would move the court against Zaman’s appointment.
