PTA has been entrusted to carry out the auction in the shortest possible time. As first order of business, however, it will seek to acquire services of a consultant.
A five month deadline for the auction to be completed has been set, with the process to culminate by the end of February, 2014.
As per the directive issued by the IT Ministry, the allocation of the spectrum will be open for new entrants and will be technology-neutral.
