The government was asked for protection of ‘aman laskhars’ at a joint meeting of 12 different peace committees in Bandai Village, Kabal.
The demand came in the wake of the target killing of village elder and peace committee member Qalandar Khan and his guard in Charbagh on Saturday.
“The government should not initiate peace talks [with militants] until they throw down their weapons and recognise the writ and Constitution of Pakistan,” said Idrees Khan, head of all the peace committees in attendance.
“We are helping security forces and law enforcement agencies without taking salaries; the least the government can do is give us protection.”
The state must compensate families of the martyred as they do with those of police and security forces, demanded the peace committee members. Security forces continue searching for those who attacked Qalandar, but no arrests have yet been made.

If this drama of talk is being played to fragment taliban then it is ok but the ultimate solution to this problem lies only an all out war against them and their suppirters in each and every nooks and corners of Pakistan . Those who think that through talk they will be able to save their Islamic asessts for future use in Afghanistan and Kashmir are in fact ignoring the demand of world community . The glibal communuty is now not in a mood to give such elements an opportunity to syrvive in Pakistan .
