Internal strife: Kidnapper killed, another injured

Police filed a case and started an investigation.

KARAK: A kidnapper was killed and his accomplice injured when a brawl erupted between them in the limits of the Teri police station. According to Teri police station SHO Jahangir Khan, a man who was kidnapped from Kohat by the same men a few days ago informed police of the incident on Friday. Khan said when the kidnappers reached Esak Khumari village, they started fighting. As a result, one of them opened fire at his accomplices, killing one and injuring the other. “Seizing the opportunity, I escaped,” said the man. SHO Khan and his team rushed to the area but the alleged kidnappers had fled. The body of kidnapper Akhtar Riaz, a resident of Esak Khumari, who was wanted by the police in several cases was recovered. Police filed a case and started an investigation.
