Targeted attack: PPP leader, four others injured in firing

PPP’s Syed Madad Ali Shah and his friends had gone to Kandero Phulpoto to attend the soyem of Ladho Khan Phulpoto.

SUKKUR: A Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and close aide of the Sindh chief minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, and four others were injured when armed men opened fire at them near village Kandero Phulpoto, Khairpur, on Thursday. PPP’s Syed Madad Ali Shah and his friends had gone to village Kandero Phulpoto to attend the soyem of Ladho Khan Phulpoto. When they were returning home, a group of unidentified men opened fire at them on the outskirts of the village. As a result of the ambush, all five of them were critically injured. Shah and the other injured men, Khadim Hussain Shah, Munawar Ali Phulpoto, Abdul Razzaq Phulpoto and Zaheer Phulpoto, were shifted to Civil Hospital, Khairpur. The police have yet to register a case.
