RAWALPINDI:

A man was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his rented accommodation in Shakrial on Tuesday, the police said.

The victim, identified as Tahir Akhlaq, was found dead at his room when his neighbours complained of a foul smell emanating from the room. The local police reached the scene and shifted the body to District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem examination. His neighbours did not known much about the victim as he had recently taken up the room on rent.

However, the victim’s brother, Shahid Akhlaq, told the police that Tahir was residing in a separate house for the last couple of weeks as his wife had left him.

The victim, hailing from Murree, was a mechanic at 501-workshop in Rawalpindi, said an official. The police registered a blind murder case and are investigating the case.
