LANDIKOTAL: A high-intensity bomb planted by identified militants along the roadside in Landikotal, Khyber Agency was defused by the bomb disposal squad (BDS) on Wednesday. Senior Khasadar official Amjid Khan Shinwari said the incident occurred at around 2pm when construction workers working on the Pak-Afghan Highway near Charwazgai area spotted the bomb planted in a  water cooler and informed Khasadar officials. Shinwari added they rushed to the spot and surrounded the area, blocking all entry and exit points.  The BDS then took the bomb to a nearby graveyard where it was detonated. The resulting explosion was extremely loud and spread panic among tribesmen living nearby. Shinwari said around 12 kilogrammes of explosives were used in the bomb.
