Missing lawyers: SC seeks DAG’s reply in Gondal’s case
A three-member bench heard the case regarding the target killing, torture and missing of lawyers.
ISLAMABAD:
The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed the Deputy Attorney General (DAG) to file a reply on behalf of secretaries of interior and defence, and respective inspectors general of police (IGPs) in advocate Zaheer Gondal’s disappearance case. A three-member bench heard the case regarding the target killing, torture and missing of lawyers. During the course of proceedings, DAG Sajid Ilyas Bhatti submitted a report on behalf of director general, National Crisis Management Cell (NCMC), maintaining that joint efforts were being made to recover Zaheer Gondal. He apprised the court that two special teams headed by superintendent of CIA police and superintendent police, Potohar division, had been constituted, who were trying to recover the missing advocate. The court adjourned the case till October 2 while directing the DAG to file reply till then.
