ISLAMABAD:

Six private firms have expressed interest in the installation of a chairlift at Margalla Hills and a giant Ferris wheel at Lake View Park. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has received expressions of interest from six firms to act as consultants for the mega projects worth around Rs1.3 billion.

“The response is encouraging,” said a CDA official, adding that identities of the interested parties could not be shared at this stage. In August, CDA had invited firms to bid as consultants for the project whose exact price is yet to be calculated.

The successful consultant or consortia of consultants would be assisting CDA in the preparation of a bid document, evaluation of technical and financial studies and supervision of the project, the official added.

He said the evaluation of expression of interest documents could take around a month and it was unclear if CDA would self-finance the project or rely on build, operate and transfer (BOT) through a public-private partnership.
