Liaqat Bhatti: PU officials notified on ex-MNA’s plea
The petitioner submitted that he possessed a genuine degree and his case was sub-judice in the Supreme Court.
LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court on Tuesday sought replies from the vice chancellor and examinations controller of Punjab University on a petition by former MNA Liaqat Ali Bhatti challenging the cancellation of his BA degree. The petitioner submitted that he possessed a genuine degree and his case was sub-judice in the Supreme Court. He submitted that the Punjab University had proceeded against him ex-parte and cancelled his degree. He said that he anticipated a case being registered against him on the charge of holding a fake degree to run for the elections. He asked the court to take notice of the university’s action. After hearing initial arguments, the court issued notices to the respondents.
