Drive-by shooting: NATO supply truck attacked, driver injured

The truck was heading from Karachi to Kabul, carrying an armoured vehicle for foreign troops.

PESHAWAR: The driver of a Nato supply truck was severely injured when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire at the vehicle in Hayatabad on Friday morning.

The vehicle was on its way to Kabul from Karachi and was carrying an armoured car for Nato troops stationed in Afghanistan. “Two motorcyclists opened fire at the vehicle near PDA building, leaving the driver Wajid, a resident of Landi Kotal, seriously injured,” said an official of Hayatabad police station.



The official added both attackers managed to escape after the incident. This was the second attack of its kind within the jurisdiction of Hayatabad police station in the past 10 days. Following the incident, the Hayatabad SHO was suspended.
