Addressing media at UNDP's Three Day International Conference on "Participatory Federation and Decentralisation", Rehman said that the suggestion of Tehreek-e-Taliban being allowed to open their offices in the country won't help in pursuing dialogue with them.
Expressing his disagreement with Imran Khan's opinion on the matter, Rehman said that there was absolutely no need for Taliban to open their offices and added that Khan's statement gave an insight into their agenda.
Commenting on PTI's suggestion to review and amend the existing blasphemy law in the National Assembly, Rehman said the law need not be changed but asserted that the misuse of the law must be kept in check.
The JUI-F chief said that according to the constitution Pakistan is an Islamic state and it will never become secular.
Imran Khan adamant about dialogue
Addressing the media in Lahore, PTI Chairman Imran Khan said that if All Parties Conference (APC) had decided on dialogue, then everything should be done to uphold that decision.
If Taliban can open office in Qatar for dialogue then why not in Pakistan for the same purpose, he questioned.
PTI chairman said that the dialogues with Taliban would be within the ambit of constitution of Pakistan if people were serious and imposed ceasefire immediately.
When asked about who would serve as mediators, he stated, "people in the tribal areas can be counted on to do the job. The government had successfully entered into an agreement in 2004 before former president General Pervez Musharraf sent military into the area."

Imran Khan must enter the arena instead of talking from sidelines..Incase the Drone or Taliban are his main interest'he must take a seat with The National Security Council and get the breif from trhe Joint Chief.....

The issue is drones or Kashmir ,we are running out from decorum. Taliban are PNA that closed a chapter with a resolve' Solution of Issues'.. Today the issues are clearer.

The Afghan Taliban are talking to a foreign occupying power, i.e. US, thus they have a need to open an office in a neutral venue (Doha). What our genius Imran Khan does not understand is that the TTP in Pakistan are criminals who are operating outside of the constitutional framework, why should they be given such official recognition? With each stupid statement of his, he is giving them more legitimacy and confusing and weakening the national resolve to tackle these people.

what none sense is this ? if there was a harm to negotiate with TTP than why all of them gathered and signed the declaration of APC? Imran just pointed out the way; Khan was right that APC is just waste of time. it seems that none of them were ready to negotiate except Imran ...... even Fazal ur Rehman is not ready...... ohhhh you people are such a cheaters.......
IK is has suggested very rational course. Madness of war is nothing but following the path of those who want to weaken Pakistan. If saner Taliban are on-board they will play very vital role to mellow down those who are funded by RAW & other anti- Pakistan groups. Starting dialogue is breaking the ice and perhaps a long due handshake. Mulana Fazal is scared that he would loose his nuisance if Taliban's come forward and he would be left alone. Already his constituency has confirmed his position. Those who continue with madness should be dealt with iron hand but now they will be a smaller groups and clearly isolated.
We should be talking to these TTP. We should be prosecuting them or convicting them for life term and sending them to worst jail Location.
There are some people who are dying to be go-between in the negotations. If Taliban open their office, some politicians will need to shut down their shops.

our society does not support anyone who thinks out of the square. that is a problem in itself. i think this is a good idea it will allow a formal representation of an organisation and will allow to negotiate formally.
IF All parties do have heart into talking then IK proposal is sound and logical one...Let them have an office for talks...talks cannot be conducted through media and also we know how authentic reports are coming from Pak media...All driven by the ideological tilt upto the level of suppressing the truth...e.g. on church attack...one english newspaper published that ttp claim responsibility and ironically the urdu version of the same newspaper said, ttp denied any involvement...then some said junduallah al-hifsa, a ttp affiliate, claimed responsibility, again later it was said in the news that it was another jundullah, not under ttp umberalla....while in todays news it said ttp given ultimatum to junduallah to vacate the pakistani soil....my point of telling is that all things are messed up...so to remove the option of talks with terrorists we should use it and if it fails, no one will ever talk about talking..and military action will be the only option... P.S. Maulana is opposition is mere for the sake of opposition.......and ET Moderator i hope its not against your rules so i hope this gets published....

It kind of makes sense, at the moment we are talking in the air. That way there will be an official representative, it will also help between good and bad Taliban, at the moment no one know who wants peace and willing to negotiate.
