KARACHI:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Khurram Sher Zaman told the House on Wednesday that his privilege was breached when a municipal commissioner misbehaved with him.

Moving a privilege motion, Zaman said that he was calling the South municipal commissioner and Saddar Town superintendent engineer to find out why garbage was not being picked up in his constituency - PS112. Both officers ignored him, he said, adding that when the voters went to complain they were told to ask their MPA to remove the garbage.

Law and parliamentary affairs minister Dr Sikandar Mandhro announced that the six-member committee, comprising Khurho, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Fayaz Butt, Samar Ali Khan, Sardar Ahmed and Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, will summon Karachi administrator and other relevant officials. The session was prorogued for an indefinite period.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Why is the commissioner responsible for garbage disposal in DHA? Isn't DHA an autonomous body that comes directly under the MoD and Corps Commander, Karachi?
