Education department: EDO told to withdraw transfer orders

The EDO had issued transfer orders of 246 clerks during the by-elections in Faisalabad.

FAISALABAD: Expressing dissatisfaction with the transfer of Education Department clerks, Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan on Monday ordered the executive district officer to immediately cancel transfer orders of all clerks. An Education Department official told The Express Tribune that the EDO had issued orders transferring 246 clerks in Faisalabad district. He said the clerks had requested the government to order the department to withdraw their transfers. Sanaullah was told that despite a ban on transfers, the EDO had issued transfer orders of 246 clerks during the by-elections in Faisalabad. The official said that the EDO was reprimanded and ordered to immediately withdraw the transfer orders.
