Foiled robbery: ‘Robber’ injured, accomplice flees

A man was arrested after he was injured in a police shootout on Saturday.


Basti Malook Station House Officer (SHO) Hussain Bakhsh Khosa said two robbers had snatched a motorcycle from Mushtaq Tarrar near Sadozai Farm Adda.

He said when the police received information of the incident, a team was dispatched to nab the robbers.

The police set up pickets and stopped two men on a motorbike for checking. The robbers shot at the police. When the police team returned their fire, one robber, identified as Abdul Razzaq of Kacha Khoo, was injured and arrested. His accomplice, identified as Bilal from Basti Khudadad, managed to flee. In another incident, three armed men took away a motorcycle, cash and a mobile phone in Jhang on Saturday. They stopped Khairat Ali and snatched his motorcycle, phone and cash.
