Hygiene laws: More food outlets fined

The campaign against food adulteration will continue, says official.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration food department imposed heavy fines on food outlet owners for failing to comply with food and hygiene laws. Assistant Director Muhammad Afzal conducted raids on hotels and bakeries in G-7 Makraz and fined the owners who served unhygienic food items with the total sum of fines reaching Rs18,000. He seized 250 unhygienic utensils and warned the owners of stern action for failing to improve the sanitary and hygienic conditions in their premises. He said the administration is determined to ensure strict implementation of pure food and hygiene laws in letter and spirit in ICT and added that the campaign against food adulteration will continue.
