Menace of narcotics: ANF to receive a budget hike

Committee also stressed that the force should be given all modern facilities and equipment to improve its performance.

ISLAMABAD: Senate’s Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control on Monday recommended to increase budget and manpower of the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) for effectively combating the menace of narcotics.

The committee met at ANF Headquarter, Rawalpindi, with Senator Talha Mehmood in the chair. The committee also stressed that the force should be given all modern facilities and equipment to improve its performance.

It directed the law enforcement agencies to cooperate with ANF in countering narcotics trafficking in the country.     Senator Talha Mehmood said that the narcotics selling activities had increased in colleges and universities, and ANF should take effective action to discourage people from such activities.
