Encouraging sportswomen: Dr Essa remembers college days

Speaking on the occasion, Essa stressed that sports play a great part in developing the personality of an individual.

KARACHI: Rotary Club president and Essa Lab’s director Dr Sabiha Essa remembered her own days in college when she was active in sports. The doctor took a trip down memory lane at the annual sports prize distribution ceremony held at the Defence Authority College for Women Phase-VIII on Monday. Dr Essa was the chief guest of the function. Speaking on the occasion, Essa stressed that sports  play a great part in developing the personality of an individual. Dr Essa said that the college had an excellent infrastructure and facilities for sports and had produced excellent athletes and sportswomen. A presentation was given by the students, which highlighted the sports achievements of the college. Earlier, the principal of the college, Dr Farhat Agha, highlighted the achievements of the students both in curricular and co-curricular activities. Prizes and awards were given out to the students who had excelled in various sports events. Neha Adnan Khan was awarded the best player trophy for her performance in various sports events.
