According to the new schedule issued by the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC), CNG closures will occur for two periods of 48 hours each, starting next week.
The president of Karachi Transport Ittehad Irshad Bukhari has condemned the decision.
"Considering the new prime minister was also a business man, the business community was expecting relief from the new government," said Bukhari. "Sadly, that has not happened."
Last month, the government had assured the CNG industry that it will seriously consider allocating gas quota to CNG stations and reduce load-shedding in Sindh and Punjab.
The government had also assured the All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) of assistance in realising the plan to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) in order to mitigate the energy crisis.

The Petrol is more expensive than CNG.
The government wants to sell more petrol than CNG and that is why Government in order to earn more profits it wants that CNG Stations should be shut down for four days in a week instead of two weekly holidays.
Slowly and gradually CNG Stations would start shutting down from the country when CNG Stations will not be able to run the show of the Gas Stations.
