Alleged target killer Asif and four others were arrested during raids in Garden, Fawara Chowk and Ram Swami this morning. They were taken to an unknown location for further investigation.
A Rangers spokesperson said that a total of 30 people were arrested last night during raids of Surjani Town Sector 7D, Papri, Ghafoor Basti, Mehran Town, Daud Goth, Bilal Colony, Ghareebabad, Ranchore Lane and Shoe Market. Various weapons and other equipment was also seized from these locations.
Many of the arrested criminals belong to banned outfits and political parties and are involved in extortion and other criminal activities, according to Rangers’ officials.
A meeting was held in Karachi on Thursday to discuss the law and order situation in Karachi. Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah presided over the meeting.
The objectives of the September 4 meeting were discussed and CM Sindh was informed about the recent raids in the city.
Rangers director-general Major General Rizwan Akhter, Inspector General (IG) Police, Secretary of Law, Sindh advocate general and Additional Inspector General (IG) Ghulam Qadir Thebo were in the meeting.

The deteriorating security situation in Karachi is a serious concern for the nation of Pakistan. Karachi is the largest city of Pakistan, and the ongoing surge in violence impacts the rest of the country. We’ve always emphasized Pakistan’s importance in the region. We cannot have a safe and secure region without a safe and secure Pakistan. We stand by the government of Pakistan in its effort to bring the situation under control. We have full trust in their abilities to negate the threat of violence in Karachi. We wish to see peace prevail throughout the city, and we wish a safe and secure environment for its residents.

In the meeting presided by Chief Minister - Qaim Ali Shah, no representation of urdu speaking population in the law enforsement agencies. In the situation of ethnically obsessed province, how can an impartial operation can be expected. No one is looking at this critical aspect of karachi and sindh.
Rangers must be given orders to shoot on sight any one playing with peoples lives or property.
Hope these were not the same guys that were released after being arrested in previous raids..
