KARACHI:

Sindh minister for livestock and fisheries, Jam Khan Shoro, directed his officials on Wednesday to make sure that they deploy veterinary doctors at all cattle markets of the province ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

“If any cattle head is found infected with any disease, then it will not be sold,” the provincial minister said while addressing a high-level meeting at the livestock department’s office. Shoro said that no cattle head would be allowed for sale without a medical certificate.

He directed the officials to set up medical booths along the routes leading to cattle markets. He said that veterinary doctors would remain present at the medical booths round the clock and that they would perform their duties in shifts. The minister said, “The ailing cattle will be seized if any traders tried to sell it, while legal action and a fine will be charged against those who sell it.” The officials apprised the minister about the planning structures and schedules.
