KARACHI: Four imported launchers along with rockets were found from a shop at Zamzama, Clifton on Wednesday evening when the police conducted a raid.

Three suspects were also arrested on the suspicion of supplying weapons to members of banned outfits. The raid was conducted at the arms shop, Guns & Accessories, by the police and officials of the intelligence agencies upon receiving a tip-off. “We have arrested the owner and employee of the shop as well as the buyer,” said SHO Kansan Dean while talking to The Express Tribune. “The shop has been sealed.”

Police officials said that they could not disclose the names of the suspects as investigation was underway but revealed that the weapons were imported. SHO Dean claimed that the police foiled a major act of terrorism in the city, adding that the initial investigation suggested that they were involved in supplying heavy weaponry to members of banned outfits in the city. The suspects were shifted to an undisclosed location for further questioning. No case was registered till the filing of this report.

Wow, "rocket launchers"!!! Too bad the picture shows what appears to be a 40MM grenade cartridge, with the barrel of the grenade launcher visible in the background!
