Summer Season: Tourism records 20pc increase
Tourist traffic to Murree, Galiyat, Ayubia, Kaghan and Swat valley was considerably increased during 2011 and 2012.

A positive trend has been witnessed in domestic tourism during the recent summer season. A Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) official said on Monday that tourism witnessed some 20 percent increase, despite negative projection by international media. He said, “Tourist traffic to Murree, Galiyat, Ayubia, Kaghan and Swat valley was considerably increased during 2011 and 2012, while Pakistani tourists visited new destinations like Gilgit, Hunza, Fairy Meadows, Rama Lake, Chitral, Kalash and Shandur valleys as well.”
