Disease Control: CBC launches fumigation drive

Fumigation will be done in garbage dumps, nullahs and manholes in DHA, Clifton Blocks 8 and 9 and surrounding slums.

KARACHI: The Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) has launched a fumigation drive in all areas that fall under its jurisdiction to inhibit the breeding of mosquitoes and other insects, which are potential carriers of diseases and viruses. According to a press statement by the board on Monday, the drive will include fumigation spray and oiling at the garbage dumps, nullahs and manholes in Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Clifton Blocks 8 and 9 and the surrounding slum areas. The board’s president, Brig. Farrukh Waseem Khan, has directed the relevant staff to ensure that steps are taken to effectively control the spread of viruses.
