Recovery: 374 theft cases solved this year

Police arrested around 700 accused involved in the theft cases.

The capital’s police claimed it has recovered Rs92.6 million worth of stolen items during 2013 by resolving 374 theft cases, according to a police spokesperson.


Police arrested around 700 accused involved in these theft cases.

Saddar Zone police resolved the most cases: 145. The zone’s police recovered stolen items worth Rs52.4 million and arrested 271 thieves, according to police. Rural Zone police arrested 196 thieves involved in 90 cases and recovered Rs24 million in stolen goods. The Saddar and Rural zones are the two biggest zones among the four Islamabad Police zones, in terms of policing area.

The City Zone and Industrial Zone recovered Rs7.8 million and Rs8.4 million respectively. Around 230 suspected thieves were arrested altogether by police in the two zones, police said.
