Epidemic awareness : PGMI organises dengue awareness walk on Jail Road

Postgraduate Medical Institute Principal urged citizens to maintain cleanliness in their houses and streets.

“The dengue fever can be prevented by adopting appropriate measures. The youth should come forward to create awareness among citizens regarding anti-dengue efforts,” Postgraduate Medical Institute Principal Anjum Habib Vohra said on Sunday.


He was talking to newsmen at the conclusion of an anti-dengue walk at Shadman Chowk.

The walk had started from the PGMI, 6-Birdwood Road, and terminated at Shadman Chowk.

Professors, doctors, Nursing College Principal Ishrat Ishaq, Nursing School Principal Raisa Ishtiaq, students of Ameerud din Medical College and nursing students also participated in the walk.

Vohra said the government had taken several steps to eradicate the dengue larvae.

He said dengue fever could be eradicated if these efforts continued uninterrupted. He said women had played an important role in curbing the disease. He urged citizens to maintain cleanliness in their houses and streets.
