LAHORE:

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Pakistan and the Hailey College of Commerce, Punjab University, have signed an agreement by which 150 scholarships worth Rs6.9 million will be offered to the college’s undergraduates, graduates and alumni to study for the ACCA qualification.

ACCA Pakistan head Arif Masud Mirza and Hailey College Principal Prof Liaqat Ali signed a memorandum of understanding to this effect here at the PU Quaid-i-Azam campus last Thursday, according to an ACCA press release. The deadline to apply for the scholarships is October 31.

“The ACCA ... believes in diversity, opportunity, accountability, innovation and integrity. The demand for ACCA professionals trained in Pakistan is especially huge in the UAE and Saudi Arabia,” Mirza said at the signing ceremony.

“We are hopeful that ACCA’s initiative will motivate students to work hard to strive for such benefits,” said Prof Liaqat Ali.
